8 Ways to Make Christmas More Meaningful

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is here, and our team is so excited to celebrate another wonderful year of serving Prosper and the surrounding communities!

We also recognize that for some, Christmas can feel overwhelming or lonely instead of hopeful and joy-filled. Here are a few simple, meaningful ideas to help keep you and your family grounded this season—rooted in joy, peace, and love.

1. Visit a local nursing home

Call ahead to see if they allow non-family visitors. Bring fresh flowers (something festive and red!), candy canes to hand out, or have your kids decorate handmade cards and drawings.

Even a simple smile, handshake, or hug can make a world of difference to someone who may not have family visiting this year.

2. Share chiropractic with someone you love

Has neurologically based chiropractic made a difference in your life this year? Improved your sleep? Relieved chronic pain? Supported your family’s immune system or your child’s bedwetting?

We see families daily who wish they’d started care sooner. If you’re in the office this week, grab a few business cards, text someone the link to our website, or add our contact info to a friend’s phone. However you share, you’re spreading love and hope!

3. Start a yearly photo tradition

Take your child’s (or pet’s!) picture in front of the Christmas tree each year. Grab a small frame, write the year on it, add the photo, and you suddenly have a keepsake ornament you’ll treasure forever. These make sweet gifts and stocking stuffers too!

4. Create a Christmas book collection

Collect Christmas-themed novels for yourself or picture books for the kids. Read them during the season and rotate new ones in each year. Consider hosting a holiday book exchange party with friends!

5. Go look at Christmas lights

Dress the kids in cozy jammies, pack blankets and stuffed animals, roll the windows down, and enjoy the beautiful lights around town. We love making hot chocolate to sip as we drive!

6. Don’t forget self-care

The holidays are full of treats — and that’s ok! Just remember to drink water and move your body. A quick 5–10 minute walk between meals, gifts, or activities is doable for even the busiest schedule.

7. Add some silliness

One of our favorite family traditions is wrapping the goofiest household item and putting it in each other’s stockings. A stapler? A random spoon? A dog toy? The crazier, the funnier!

8. Attend a candlelight service

Candlelight services are a beautiful opportunity to slow down, quiet your mind, and rest in the gift God gave us when He sent His Son to Earth. Luke 2 tells us about the “good news of great joy for ALL people.” Yes, even you. A Savior born to rescue us all!

As we all try to slow down over the coming weeks and spend intentional time with our families, we pray that you feel peace, joy, and love throughout the holidays.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace.…” – Romans 15:13

Merry Christmas, Restoration family! 🎄
